With an affinity for arts, Seema chose to graduate in Interior design from Mumbai. After spending 4 years in US as a dependent housewife, boredom had struck. Baking had become a hobby since a couple of months and the HCC college in New Jersey was just a walk away from her apartment. The 1 year course in Culinary Arts Baking changed her life. She fell in love with breads and pastries. 6 months of voluntary work at a local bakery gave her insights into the cake business. She had found her calling and Sweet Mantra was born.
After moving back to Pune, Seema started making regular cakes at home on order. A neighbour kids request for a Doraemon theme cake opened the doors to the world of fondant birthday cakes in Pune. While the college course had given only an introduction to fondant, she practised for weeks to be able to make good fondant toppers. It’s the detailing that sets her work apart from the others. She also takes classes/workshops for fondant cakes, sugar art at her studio in Balewadi, Pune.
After working as a software programmer for 6 years in Infosys and 4 years in Cognizant, Jatin quit IT to pursue his passion for acting. Theatre rehearsals followed by the stage performances were intense and required months of commitment. While at it, he helped Seema with customer coordination and cake deliveries. The excitement in the kids eyes when they saw their dream cake and the appreciation that followed, moved him.
Cake design, marketing, hiring…responsibilities grew. This has almost become his full time work. No cake leaves the door without his review. Besides making the best fondant birthday cakes in Pune, he believes in providing the best possible service too. So far, the journey has been very satisfying. The actor in this entrepreneur never died though. Short films are still his thing. For a glimpse, please visit http://www.jatinsaraf.in
